Schoolboy slips on railway line and is killed by train

Two friends watched in horror as a train ran over their schoolmate killing him outright. The tragedy happened last Friday as the youngsters were crossing tracks 200 metres from the São João do Estoril station on the Cascais line, reports Correio da Manhã.
It was a stretch prohibited to pedestrians. Nonetheless, 16-year-old Jaime Henriques, the son of a journalist, was on it with his friends at 10.45 on Friday morning, and is thought to have slipped and fallen at just the wrong moment.
The line was closed for some time as police and emergency services worked together.
At time of writing, Correio da Manhã said it was not known why Jaime and his friends had chosen to cross the tracks at that particular spot. As INEM psychologists attended both Jaime’s friends, the youngster’s body was taken to the mortuary in Cascais.
