Forty tourism students from the Escola Profissional de Alte went on a school trip to the environmentally protected site of Rocha da Pena to mark World Tourism Day.
The trip, organised by Almargem and sponsored by Loulé Câmara, aimed to show the ‘future tourist guides’ the potential of Rocha da Pena as a birdwatching spot. Loulé Câmara wants to invest in the potential of the municipality as a birdwatching destination and is currently looking at other locations, such as Fonte da Benémola, Barranco do Velho, Cortelha and Vale da Rosa, to be included in a birdwatching guide.
