School exchange

TERRY MCGUIRE, head teacher of the Almancil-based International School São Lourenço, visited Chipping Sodbury School in the UK this month to establish links and start an exchange programme for students.

According to Terry McGuire, the visit was very productive: “The value that can be obtained by having strong international links cannot be underestimated. We can ensure that our systems and procedures, our curriculum and teaching, and all our standards are in line with the best practice.”

He said that the first evidence of the benefit of this link will be an exchange visit between year nine students from both schools, which should take place in May 2009.
