The traditional end-of-year races return on December 30 with routes suitable for runners of all ages.
Lagoa has revealed its annual end-of-year São Silvestre Races will be held this year on December 30.
With a prize Money €4,600, the main 10km «São Silvestre Lagoa» starts at the Largo do Auditório Carlos do Carmo, in the town centre at 17:30.
In addition to the primary race, there will be Kids races for under 10 and under 12 runners (300m route) and a Mini São Silvestre / Walk along a 5km route.
The municipality invites those interested to “stay tuned for the opening of the registrations on the Lagoa City Council’s social networks and join this solidarity initiative”.
This year, the annual sporting event will donate the totality of its registration fees to the Lagoa Volunteer Firefighters and the Lourenço Dias cause and offer a slice of traditional Christmas Bolo Rei cake and hot tea to all participants
The São Silvestre Races are a partnership between the Lagoa City Council and the Algarve Athletics Association.The latter’s main activity is “developing this sport in the region in regional, national and international competitions, supporting affiliated athletics clubs, and is a unifying structure”.
