The rural town of São Marcos da Serra in Silves will be hosting another popular ‘Feira do Folar’ which every year shines the spotlight on its mouth-watering version of the Portuguese Easter cake, the Folar.
Taking place over the weekend of April 19-21, the fair will also feature handicraft, musical entertainment and other gastronomic delights, and usually attracts hundreds of people from all over the Algarve during the festive Easter season.
São Marcos da Serra’s Folar has a hard-boiled egg inside it and is made with cinnamon and fennel. The town is also famous for its delicious bread.
The fair will begin on all three days at 11am. Admission is free.
