With the traditional Easter cake ‘folar’ as the star of the show, the small town of São Marcos da Serra will be organising the 16th edition of its ‘Feira do Folar’ between April 18 and 20.
As usual, the fair will take place in front of the town’s church.
Besides showcasing Portugal’s delicious Easter cake – one of São Marcos da Serra’s specialties alongside its bread – the fair also features an extensive list of entertainment.
Say organisers: “The fair intends to promote the municipality’s inland areas and local culture as well as ‘know-how’, traditions, gastronomy and craftsmanship.”
It is organised by Silves council, S. Marcos da Serra parish council, the Serrano football club, the humanitarian association of S. Marcos and Crédito Agrícola, and will open its doors every day at 11am. Closing hours vary between 8pm on April 18 and 19, and at 7pm on April 20.
