São Brás demise

Whilst numbers for Walking Football continue to grow in Olhão and Tavira, the sessions at São Brás de Alportel have ceased due to a lack of numbers.

In a final swansong, São Brás, supported by players from the other two east Algarve groups, did exceptionally well in the recent Browns (Vilamoura) Walking Football Cup.

Victories over Millwall (London), Clitheroe (Lancashire) and Suffolk Strollers plus a draw against Portsmouth Yellows (Hampshire) resulted in the team finishing top of their group.

The semi-final against Ayr finished 0-0 with the Scottish team going through to the final after winning the penalty shootout.

In the Plate (group losers) Competition Final, the São Brás team of Paul Osboune, Dave Keeble, Peter Walpole, Steve Johnson, Alan Black and Sue Charles lost 4-0 to a very good Browns team.

Everyone is welcome to the weekly sessions which continue throughout the summer in Olhão, Tavira, Vilamoura and Lagos.
