São Brás appoints foreign resident ombudsman

If you are a foreign resident living in São Brás de Alportel and you would like to share your views or concerns with the local council, things just became a lot easier.
The local council has announced the appointment of a foreign resident ombudsman who will be available to meet with the foreign community on the third Thursday of every month.
The municipality explained that with this decision it has proved it is well-aware of the importance of its thriving foreign community, which represent over 10% of its population.
Alexandre Barcia, a Spanish man who lived for many years in the US but has settled in São Brás, will be the mediator between the council and the foreign community. He is known and praised for his commitment to social and charity causes.
“This is yet another challenge in his life which he is embracing with a sparkle in his eye, because helping others is his main goal in life,” the municipality stated in a press release.
If you are interested in meeting with Barcia, you can do so on the third Thursday of every month at the local town hall.
