Portuguese golf No1 Ricardo Santos managed to top his recent achievements in the Middle East by celebrating his second best finish ever in a PGA European Tour tournament at the Joburg Open in South Africa.
The 30-year-old from Faro, whose previous career high came with victory at the Madeira Open last season, took joint third place behind Richard Sterne with a stunning performance, comprising four below par rounds of 70, 65, 69 and 64 for a total 19 under par score of 268 on the Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club East Course. Santos, already occupying 11th place in the Race to Dubai this year, is continuing his charge up the international rankings at the East London Golf Club Africa Open this weekend.
