Following the success of last years Shoebox Drive for the Elderly, another shoebox drive has been organised for Christmas 2006. Castelos dos Sonhos, a registered charity, who help more than 200 elderly people living in the Silves area, want to bring a sparkle to the festive period for these elderly residents.
To be a Santa’s little helper is easy. All that is needed is a shoebox, lots of goodies, festive wrapping and a little imagination. Once you have obtained an empty shoebox (most shoe shops are happy to give them away), the next step is decide whether your gift will be tailored to a man, woman or couple. Then, once the decision has been made, start filling your box with individually wrapped presents that will brighten someone’s day.
Filled shoeboxes can be delivered to Castelo dos Sonhos in Silves or the Hotel Garbe in Armação de Pêra between November 15 and December 1, 2006. Associations and groups can join in with this initiative as well as individuals.
