Santa Claus brings Christmas cheer to Mar Shopping Algarve

Christmas has arrived at Loulé’s Mar Shopping Algarve, which is celebrating the festive season with a Christmas Village, a sustainable ice rink for children and a prize draw which will give clients a chance to win electric scooters and bicycles.

A fully-decorated shopping centre is what awaits shoppers inside.

“Those who walk through the main entrance on weekends can be surprised by the snow that will build up anticipation for the magical world inside,” Mar Shopping Algarve says in a statement to the press.

“Music, decorations and thousands of LED Christmas lights have transformed the space, leading visitors to the Christmas Village, where you can find Santa, of course.”

An ecological ice rink for children aged four to 12 has also been inaugurated, as well as a new space where visitors can drop off clothes to be donated to families in need across the Algarve.

Mar Shopping has also set up a Christmas prize draw which will be handing out prizes that “promote sustainable mobility”. Among the prizes are two electric scooters, two electric kick scooters and two electric bicycles.

To participate, visitors must present a receipt of at least €25 spent at Mar Shopping Algarve at the centre’s Information Desk.

“We have taken inspiration from our homes to prepare a magical Christmas for our visitors,” says Mar Shopping general manager Ana Antunes.

“It was all prepared with the same joy and care as when we put up our own Christmas tree at home, so that all our visitors, employees and partners can share with us the joy of the season. I also highlight the importance of our charity drive that we hope will unite our visitors, institutions and the beneficiary families,” Ana Antunes added.

Mar Shopping’s Christmas Village is open from 11am to 2pm and from 3pm to 8pm between Sunday and Thursday, and from 10am to 10pm on Friday, Saturday and the day before the Bank Holidays. Santa Claus will be at the ‘Village’ every day from 11am to 2pm and 3pm to 8pm. On Christmas Eve, Santa will be accepting his last Christmas cards between 10am and 2pm and 3pm and 6pm.

The shopping centre will be closed on Christmas Day (December 25) and New Year’s Day (January 1).
