Santa arrives at Forum Algarve this Saturday to spread some early Christmas magic

Forum Algarve in Faro will celebrate the start of the “most magical time of year” with the arrival of Santa on Saturday (November 13) at 11am. Other highlights will be the opening of its hugely popular ice rink and Christmas Village.

The Christmas Village will be the place to be for children looking to meet Santa, take a picture with him or even hand him their Christmas letter.

The jolly, white-bearded old man will be setting aside some time from his busy scheduled to be at the Christmas Village between 11am and 1pm, 3pm and 5.30pm and 6pm and 8pm until December 23, and between 11am and 1pm on Christmas Eve (December 24).

Apart from meeting Santa, children will also be able to create their own digital Christmas card or take home a copy of the 15th edition of ‘Livro do Gui’, which is put out every year to raise awareness about a wealth of issues. This year, the focus is on the need to move towards “more sustainable mobility”.

Meanwhile, the ice rink is returning to the shopping centre’s central square with several safety and hygiene measures in place, such as a larger preparation area to ensure social distancing.

Forum Algarve will also hold its annual creativity contest involving local schools, where students have been challenged to decorate a 3D bicycle. Visitors will select their favourite, while the shopping centre’s creative agency will hand out a “Creativity Award” for the first time to celebrate the most original piece.

“We are expecting unique days with a lot of entertainment and family memories,” the shopping centre says.
