The largest sand replenishment operation ever made in the Algarve was completed last week.
Approximately 1.25 million cubic metres of sand were deposited along five kilometres of coastline between Quarteira and Vale do Lobo.
According to a spokesman from the regional water authority (ARH), responsible for the project, work was carried out efficiently, which allowed it to be completed a few days prior to the scheduled date.
