Sand art update

The sculptors creating sand art for the FIESA festival are beavering away, working long hours to ensure their pieces are complete by next week’s grand opening. A huge sculpture of Gulliver at Lilliput, sprawling across the sand, is the latest addition to the sand art. It has so far taken three separate sculptors eight days to make the piece and it is still not complete. However, its creators Benoit Dutherage, Lars Borst and Marjon Katerberg, have confidently claimed: “We’ll get there in the end.” Despite working non-stop for four weeks now, the artists are still all in high spirits and anticipating a great reception when the sculptures are all unveiled on May 22. Pictured here is a sculpture of the famous cartoon character Astrix.
