Sales of Viagra flop in Portugal since start of pandemic

With the epidemiological situation improving by the day, newspapers are taking a lighter approach to the pandemic, reporting today on how sales of Viagra flopped markedly last year.

Doctors say it could be because medication for erectile dysfunction requires a prescription – and medical appointments have been hugely compromised thanks to Covid-19 – but sexologist Vânia Beliz has said she thinks it is more due to “sentiments of anxiety and frustration”.

Many couples “have lost their libido” because of the stress and strains of the pandemic, she explains.
