The Saint Andrew’s Society of the Algarve has announced that both the Saint Andrew’s Ball on November 28 and the Burns Supper on January 23, 2021 have been cancelled due to the pandemic.
“Being a group of eternal optimists, we at the Saint Andrew’s Society of the Algarve had hoped that the improvements in the Covid situation would continue sufficiently enough for us to go ahead with our Saint Andrew’s Ball and our Burns Supper. Sadly, we have had to bow to the reality that this has not happened and have now reluctantly decided that we have no alternative but to cancel both events. We are truly sorry about this as we know that many of you enjoy letting your hair down with us on these occasions!” said Doug McAdam, Chieftain.
“But, maintaining our optimism, we have pencilled next year’s Ball into the Hotel Penina’s diary for Saturday, November 27 (as according to the Saturday nearest to Saint Andrew’s Day). Keep safe all of you.”
