TWO DAYS of celebrations are planned in Sagres this month as a final push in the campaign to make the Fortaleza de Sagres one of the seven wonders of Portugal.
The Fortaleza de Sagres is the only Algarve monument in the list of 21 finalists nominated to become one of seven maravilhas (wonders). Dubbed, ‘Sagres and the Wonders’, a series of cultural initiatives will take place on June 9 and 10, in and around Sagres.
President of Vila do Bispo Câmara, Gilberto Viegas, has appealed to the public in the Algarve to vote for the Fortaleza. You can vote online at www.7maravilhas.sapo.pt.
The winners will be announced on July 7 in Lisbon before the announcement of the new Seven Wonders of the World.
