Safety works on Algarve coastal area

ARH, the Algarve’s hydrographic administration, has launched a public tender for the management of coastal areas in the Algarve.

This project, valued at €250,000, will have to be completed in three years and will include measures to improve and replace danger signs on cliffs, improvements to beach accesses with the construction of new walkways or restoration of ones that already exist and the controlled demolition of cliffs that pose a risk to the public.

A spokesman from ARH told the Algarve Resident: “The companies that win the public tender will be responsible for keeping the entire coastal area of the Algarve secure. They will perform intervention operations when needed and will guarantee safety on the beaches.”
