Safety traffic technology

Road safety issues were discussed in a meeting with Faro mayor José Apolinário and members of the PSP and GNR forces on May 20.

More than 65,000 vehicles travel within Faro each day and authorities are now harnessing technology to tackle problems related to accidents.

Faro PSP Commandant, Mário Campos de Oliveira, revealed that the police forces are currently using the Google Earth programme to help locate accidents, while plans are in place to use new Microsoft software to allow accidents to be pinpointed more accurately.
