‘Safe Easter’ crime prevention displays

Safe Communities Algarve, in cooperation with the GNR and PSP police forces, is organising a series of crime prevention displays over the Easter holiday. The aim is to raise awareness about the type of crime that may occur during the holiday season and what steps should be taken to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of crime.
The GNR cover the rural areas of the Algarve including the medium-sized towns, while the PSP are responsible for the larger cities including Faro and Portimão.
Upcoming events are:
April 16, Praia da Luz – Spar Supermarket, 10am to 2pm, in conjunction with the GNR Portimão, who will inform about the Safe Residence Programme.
April 17, Praia da Rocha – PSP Tourist Police Post at the beach front, 10am to 12 noon and 2pm to 4pm. Residents and tourists are invited to learn more about the work of the PSP in this busy tourist area.
April 19, Guia – AlgarveShopping, from 2pm to 8pm, in conjunction with GNR Albufeira and other GNR specialist units.
The theme is ‘Safe Families Day’ and the aim is to promote crime prevention awareness among adults and younger people. There will be surprises for children.
