A NEW centre for intravenous drug addicts is to open in Lisbon in the second quarter of this year.
Its location has still to be decided by the câmara and the drug addiction institute, but it should provide a controlled atmosphere for needle exchange and drug use.
A Lisbon Câmara spokesperson working on the project, Sergio Lipari, said that the centre is aimed at drug injecting users to get them off the streets and give them a hygienic and safe environment.
