Low-cost airline Ryanair is due to open a new route between Faro and Hamburg Lubeck airport in Germany from June 1, 2010, with two flights a week. Flights will be on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Although total flight passengers dropped by 800,000 in 2009, the airline registered an increase of 29 per cent in passenger numbers to and from Portugal to 1.8 million.
