With hundreds of thousands of Ryanair passengers already making alternative plans for flights booked to the end of October, more than 18.000 new cancellations have been announced for the airline’s winter timetable, extending through March.
Among 34 routes affected will be the Faro-Newcastle link, writes tabloid Correio da Manhã this morning, citing the UK’s Guardian.
But details are still sketchy and the tabloid does not rule out the possibility of other national routes and airports being hit.
According to the Guardian, Ryanair has “emailed all the of the customers affected, offering them the choice between a refund or an alternative flight”.
For now, Ryanair’s Portuguese website is explaining nothing.
