A Russian ship contracted to pick up ‘paddles’ from Viana do Castelo for wind turbines to be erected in Russia by German company Enercom has been left to anchor offshore while a way of getting round sanctions is considered. As reports explain, the ship cannot pick up its cargo because it is sailing under a Russian flag… if the flag can be ‘changed’, the problem would be solved. But the solution wouldn’t sit well with anyone… least of all Enercom which has “guaranteed that it is evaluating the possibility of suspending contracts with Russian companies”, says SIC.
