Russiagate: Public Ministry opens inquiry into Lisbon City Council’s data protection breaches

The Attorney General’s Office confirmed today that it has opened an inquiry into ‘Russiagate’ – the multiple data protection breaches made by Lisbon City Council which mayor Fernando Medina sought to ‘contain’ by sacking a long-standing member of staff (click here). A source for the office said the internal audit undertaken by Lisbon City Council will be taken into account. The investigation is in the hands of DIAP, the department of investigation and penal action.
