Claims have not been independently substantiated
Russia’s minister of defence Sergei Shoigu claims that Russian military have destroyed “100% of the tanks supplied by Poland and Portugal” to Ukraine. He announced that the three Portuguese and 14 Polish Leopard II tanks were destroyed in Donetsk and Zaporizhia, writes Correio da Manhã, stressing that this information has not been independently substantiated.
“A source for the Armed Forces has assured CM that Portugal has not received any information on the three Leopard II A6 combat vehicles since they were delivered to an international logistics platform and arrived in Ukraine at the end of March as part of military material sent by several countries to support the fight against the Russian invasion, started on February 24, 2022”, says the paper.
Sergei Shoigu’s claims were cited by Russian news agency Tass.
