Algarve resident Rupert Fillingham, 8, received his Association of British Riding Schools (ABRS) diplomas at Pinetrees Riding Centre in Almancil recently.
Representing the association in Portugal, Paula Leverton, who handed over the diplomas to Rupert, was recently in the country for the annual inspection of the ABRS members, now totalling five.
Pinetrees is one of the ABRS riding centres where you can take ABRS Weekly Rider Tests, in both equitation and in stable management.
Beverly Gibbons from Pinetrees said: “We recognise that financial and time constraints mean that many riders rely on getting their ‘equine fix’ just on a weekly basis with little opportunity to assess their progress.
“The ABRS Progressive Rider Tests are specifically designed for this purpose, by providing a logical and progressive system of training through a structured programme of realistic stepping stones to achieve their equestrian goals – both in the saddle and on the ground.”
ABRS members in Portugal are Pinetrees Riding Centre, Almancil, Quinta do Paraiso Alto, Bensafrim, Monte da Ribeira, Tôr, Loulé, Equus Ourique, Ourique and Escola Vasco da Gama, Sintra.
