Run for life

MORE THAN 5,000 women participated in the Corrida Sempre Mulher race in Lisbon on November 9 in support of women with breast cancer, raising over 50,000 euros for the Portuguese charity.

Popular Portuguese singer and patron of the charity, Tony Carreira was joined by Lisbon Câmara president António Costa in support of the charity run.

Verónica Rufino, president of the Portuguese association for the support of women with breast cancer, said: “The race was a great success and our goal for 2009 is to have 10,000 participants.”
