Run against Parkinson’s

The Portuguese Association of Parkinson’s Sufferers (APDPk) will hold various activities to mark World Parkinson’s Day, which is on April 11.

A run, called Corrida Contra o Parkinson (Race Against Parkinson’s), will take place on April 10 from 10.30am.

At the first event last year, participants covered more than 9,000 kilometres between them, in 12 cities and involving 5,000 people worldwide.

This year the goal is to cover 40,000 kilometres, which represents the distance around the world.

The distance covered by each participant will be recorded and accumulated until it reaches the 40,000-kilometre mark.

Porto, Batalha, Leiria, Lisbon and Faro are some of the Portuguese cities which will host runs, with the Faro event being held at Jardim Manuel Bivar.
