LAGOA CAMÂRA has been ordered to remove the waste materials from the now illegal rubbish dump near Porches following a meeting with the regional development commission (CCDR) this month.
Lagoa Câmara will also have to prohibit access to the site and build an eco centre to collect rubbish and monitor groundwater quality around at the site (See The Resident edition, October 10).
A spokesman from the CCDR said: “The Câmara will first have to remove larger rubbish items from the site before building a trench around the site to stop further illegal dumping with vehicles.”
