It’s dubbed ‘Redescobrir os Segredos do Algarve’ and it is the Algarve Tourism Board’s (RTA) plan to show local travel agents and writers the Algarve’s hidden secrets.
For its second initiative on April 29, the board will be taking 20 industry representatives on a day-trip around São Brás de Alportel – but it is keeping the itinerary under its hat. All it will admit is that the trip “promises to amaze”.
“Tourism and media professionals help ‘sell’ the Algarve by the way they ‘live it’ and write about it,” said tourism chief Desidério Silva.
“It is important for them to visit locations that are usually left off the usual touristic routes, but which are potentially very attractive for future visitors.”
This is the second event of its kind and is supported by São Brás council and the regional board of culture.
The first event took place in Alcoutim last year, and the idea for the future is to visit every borough in the Algarve.
