The Algarve’s tourism board (RTA) has praised the return to the region of the Portugal Open golfing competition.
The event will take place in May at the Morgado Golf Resort, Portimão between May 11 and 14 and will add to the Algarve’s impressive golf agenda, which already features the Portugal Masters, scheduled for September at Oceânico Victoria’s course in Vilamoura.
“It is with satisfaction that the Algarve welcomes this important event, which puts our region on the map for great international golfing events and contributes strongly to the Algarve’s position as a privileged destination for the sport,” said tourism boss Desidério adding that “the Algarve has been among the world’s prime golfing destinations for both amateurs and professionals for many years”.
