HÉLDER MARTINS (pictured left), the president of Região de Turismo do Algarve (RTA), the Algarve regional tourism board, recently presented the President of the Republic, Jorge Sampaio, and golfing legend, Arnold Palmer (pictured right), with copies of the commemorative book entitled Algarve, 35 years, especially published to mark RTA’s 35th birthday. The presentation took place at the Victoria Golf Club in Vilamoura on the occasion of the 6th Taça Presidente da República, the President of the Republic’s Cup. Arnold Palmer, the famous American golfer who designed the Victoria Course, also received a piece of traditional Algarvean pottery made in Porches.
