The Royal British Legion-Portugal Branch has announced a number of fundraising events taking place in the Algarve, including the annual Poppy Appeal.
The annual dinner dance to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the formation of the RBL in 1921 is being held on Saturday, November 6 at Restaurant Sítio do Mário in Albufeira from 6pm.
A three-course dinner, free bar (beer, wine, water and soft drinks), cabaret direct from the UK for one night only, along with entertainment by Suzanne Wilson and the five-piece band Nightshift will ensure a fabulous night for all. The Remembrance Service will be held at St Luke’s Church in Palhagueira at 10.45am on November 14. Due to Covid restrictions, seat reservations are required for the service. Applications by email should be sent to [email protected]
Meanwhile, the annual Poppy Appeal is underway with collecting boxes in many shops and bars throughout the Algarve. To support the cause, you can also make a donation to the Poppy Appeal by bank transfer.
