Irish airline Aer Lingus is stopping flights between Faro and London Gatwick from February 21.

A spokesman for the airline told the Algarve Resident: “Changes reflect weak customer demand and continuing challenges in the UK operating environment which have impacted the aviation sector performance generally.”

Aer Lingus also said it will be cutting the number of Airbus A320 craft from five to three and have also deferred the delivery of two further planes which were due to join the fleet by the end of the year.
