A group of 17 Walking footballers, all over 60 years-of-age, from the Mature Millers (Rotherham United FC Community Sports programme) descended on Olhão for two days of friendly but competitive sport organised by East Algarve Walking Football.
Browns Walking Football (Vilamoura) joined the festivities on the first day and, despite the inclement weather, skill and ball control were much in abundance.
At a celebratory dinner, Chris Baker (Mature Millers captain) was presented with a pennant and framed photo record of the visit.
Chris said: “We’ve had a great time and hope to return for the international tournament in November. There is no doubt that Walking Football has brought together people from all walks of life and from many different cultures. Long may it continue.”
