Members of Rotary Club Estoi Palace International welcomed Rotary District Governor José Coelho of the Rotary Club of Setúbal on September 14.
José Coelho was taken to visit local community establishments which are supported by Estoi Rotary Club, including Casa do Povo where the club are funding the purchase of milk for underprivileged families
After a meeting with the board of members from the club, the governor then congratulated Rotary Club Estoi Palace International on its achievements and said that he was particularly impressed with the support the club has given to the local community.
José Coelho also spoke of his approval of the development of wider projects including the recent golf tournament in support of the End Polio Now campaign by Rotary International.
In the evening, the Tavira, Olhão, Vila Real de Santo António and Estoi Palace clubs joined together for a dinner meeting at Pedras d’el Rei in Tavira where Estoi Palace club president Bill Mahoney spoke about the objectives of international clubs in the Algarve.
“International clubs provide a Rotary home for many foreign residents and as the meetings are held in English, Rotarians of many nationalities are able to join together,” he said.
