Rotary offers opportunity to attend UK summer camp

TWO places to a summer camp in England are up for grabs for two young people from the Algarve. Almancil International Rotary Club will be sponsoring the two young people attending the camp from July 21 to August 4.

The invitation is for one boy and one girl, aged from 16 to 18, who will spend the first four days at the homes of English Rotarians before going to the Petty Pool Outdoor Centre in Cheshire in North West England, to join 18 other young people from Europe and other countries. There will be no charges involved. Almancil Rotary International will be responsible for travel and insurance to and from England, while English Rotary clubs will fund all other expenses.

Those invited should have their own money for personal expenses and should bring casual clothing, rainwear, walking boots or shoes and swimwear. The young people at the outdoor centre will be in the 24-hour care of full time camp wardens and accommodation will be in four berth chalets.

Application forms can be obtained by writing to: Almancil International Rotary Club Summer Camp 2007, Vale D’Éguas, 8135-022 Almancil, or by email to [email protected].  The closing date for applications is April 13, 2007.
