Rotary dinner meeting

Almancil International Rotary Club (AIRC) celebrated the end of the Rotary year on July 5 with a dinner meeting at the Conrad Hotel, Quinta do Lago, attended by more than 90 Rotarians and guests.

Outgoing President Hermes Alberto outlined the achievements of the club during his term which included many fund-raising events for local charities and schools.

Hermes’ final act as President was the awarding of a Rotary Paul Harris Fellowship to Pamela Winn for her “outstanding contribution to the club”.

It was also farewell to Peter Hinze as Master of Ceremonies, a duty he has performed for the last three years.

Peter’s role will be taken over by new President Claire Busbridge’s husband Sandy Glennie and will be the first time a husband and wife have been on the Board.
