The clatter of horse’s hooves and carriage wheels have resounded through the streets of Vilamoura’s Old Village throughout this summer.
The ride is a complimentary service provided exclusively for diners at A Casa do Largo, a restaurant located in the centre of the village square.
Fun for families and romantic for couples, since April this year the landau has made more than 400 journeys including thousands of visitors and newly-married couples.
Before the season ends, Heather and David Turner, the owners of the restaurant, hope that Algarve residents as well as tourists will take advantage of the offer. By booking a table, they are entitled to a complimentary carriage ride.
As well as lunch and dinner, A Casa do Largo specialises in afternoon tea served beneath the shade of a Victorian pergola. The teas, prepared with every attention to old-fashioned detail, are presented on tiered cake stands and served on vintage china. Carolyn Kain
