They cancelled a gig last week when Mick Jagger’s girlfriend L’Wren Scott was found hanged in her New York apartment, but the 50-year-old band full of 70-somethings has just announced that it will be coming to Portugal to play at Lisbon’s Rock in Rio in May.
It will be the fifth time the Rolling Stones have performed in Portugal – the last concert being in 2007, at the Alvalade XX1 stadium. This time, the band will be playing at the Parque da Bela Vista on May 29.
After last week’s tragic news, Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Charlie Watts are resuming their “14 on fire” tour which began in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates last month, and will now go on through Asia.
