Rolling out the ‘green’ carpet

Ambassador of the Russian Football Federation, Bakhtier Khakimob, recently visited the Algarve Stadium in Loulé, to see where the 8,000 Russian fans expected in the region would be seated during the national team’s first European Championship match, due to take place this Saturday against Spain, and the June 19 fixture against Greece. The President of Loulé Câmara, Seruca Emídio, was more than happy to show the Russian representative around the stadium and explain about security details and events occurring in the town. After the tour, Khakimob toured Quinta do Lago and Brown’s sports complex in Vilamoura, where the Russian team is expected to train. “He was satisfied and confident that his team would feel welcome here during the Euro 2004,” a spokesperson revealed.
