Portimão’s string of international festivals continues at Praia da Rocha this week with Rolling Out Loud, said to be the largest hip-hop festival in the world.
As the Resident went to press on Wednesday, American rapper J. Cole was due to take the stage as the opening night headliner. A$AP Rocky will be Thursday’s headliner, while Future will bring the event to a close on Friday.
But dozens of other artists will be performing, with the day one line-up also featuring AJ Tracy, Babyface Ray, Bas, Bia, Don Toliver, Flo Milli, Jack Harlow, Ivorian Doll, K Charles, Lancei Foux, Macho Kream, M Huncho, Nardo Wick, Nle Choppa, Era Sremmurd, Rico NastyRoddy Ricch, Shenseea, Sleepy Hallow and Sofaygo.
Thursday will also see Aleesha, Baby Keem, City Morgue, Coi Leray, Danny Towers, D-Block Europe, DDG, Fat Nick, Fivio Foreign, JME, Ken Carson, Kenny Mason, Key Glock, Morad, Morray, Ms. Banks, Playboi Carty, Pouya, Sam Wise, Shasimone, Skepta, Ski Mask and The Slump God and Trippie Red take the stage.
Rolling Out Loud will come to a close on Friday with ktherula, Central Cee, Kaash Paige, Lakeyah, Leiti Sene, Lil Baby, Lil Skies, Lil Tecca, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Yachty, Lucki, Pi’erre Buorne, Robb Bank$, Sheck Wes, Skodi, Space Jam The Pilot, Tana, Tokin, Tyla Yaweh and Young Nudy.
The event was originally due to take place in 2020 but was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It was preceded by the Afro Nation and Secret Project festivals, which were also held in Praia da Rocha and attracted thousands to the Western Algarve beach.
