Event could become one of Albufeira’s main events, says deputy mayor
Guia is preparing to host the first edition of ‘Brazonada Rockin’Guia,’ a one-day festival organised by the local bikers group Moto Grupo da Guia Brasões de Ferro.
The event will take place on Sunday, April 30 and feature vintage clothing stands, a barber shop, tattoo stands, American cars, cooking demonstrations, street food, beer, flair shows and concerts.
Albufeira mayor José Carlos Rolo has stressed the importance of the event for the Brasões de Ferro Group, adding that he believes it help attract scores of visitors to Guia.
The event will kick off at 1pm with a lunch get-together, after which visitors will be able to visit the many stands at the local multiuse sports field (Polidesportivo da Guia).
According to the local council, the highlight of the programme will be the two concerts scheduled after dinner, with ‘Hot Billy Rods’ (9.00 pm to 10.15 pm) and ‘El Pavoni Harp & His Rockin’Trio’ (10.30 pm to 12.00 am) due to keep festivalgoers rocking into the night.
Albufeira deputy mayor Cristiano Cabrita has praised Moto Grupo da Guia Brasões de Ferro for its “dynamic approach to growing and developing the association’s activities, members, and community”, adding that the festival has the potential to become one of the municipality’s main events.
He also highlighted the importance of “these kinds of events, especially at this time of year, when the tourism high season has not started yet.”
The event is organised with the support of Albufeira Council and Guia Parish Council.
