UPDATED 11.20 ON OCTOBER 31
REPORTS THAT Robert Murat, the first person to be named as an arguido in the Madeleine McCann case, is to be interviewed by police for a third time, have been dismissed as untrue by his lawyer.
Various British national newspapers carried the story today (Wednesday) but Francisco Pagarete told The Resident: “We do not have any information about that. My client hasn’t been contacted formally or informally by the Investigation.
” I have received several phone calls today about that and I can clearly state that no contact has been made to us”.
As to the future, he added that they do not know if that is going to happen or when.
“We only know that if that happens it’s just a question of scheduling an hour and we will be there.”
Robert Murat, who was made an official suspect on May 15, shares a villa with his mother. The villa, Casa Liliana, is around 150 yards from the Ocean Club apartment in Praia da Luz where Madeleine vanished on May 3.
Robert Murat has always protested his innocence. He was first questioned in May and again in July and. police spent two days digging up his garden in August, but failed to find anything.
