One of the four suspects apprehended by Portimão PSP police last month could be a Romanian man who is suspected of a robbery which led to the death of British resident John Turner at his home in Loulé council in 2005, according to Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã (CM).
Three men were arrested in connection with the robbery in 2005. However, one suspect, Gheorge Beuca, was never found (see the Algarve Resident editions, May 12 and November 3, 2006).
According to CM, police are investigating whether he could be among their suspects.
A spokesman from the PSP told the Algarve Resident: “We cannot reveal the nationality or identity of any suspect and cannot comment about this case.”
