Portimão PJ, with assistance from the local PSP, detained a group of four young men, aged between 16 and 26, who were suspected of carrying out a series of crimes, including robbery, kidnapping and extortion. The crime spree took place within the village of Ferragudo and the police investigation to catch the thieves was code-named ‘Irmãos Metralha’. Various police units were involved in the operation to foil the young offenders. In the most recent incident, the victim was an Englishman who lives in Ferragudo. He was surprised, in the middle of the night, by the four individuals who tied him down and forced him to hand over his bank cards and pin numbers. They also took his car which they later dumped on the AE2, close to Palmela. The fourmen charged are due to appear in court.
