CHESTNUT ROASTING parties have been organised by several Juntas de Freguesia across the Algarve for residents and visitors to enjoy the November tradition.
It is common for visitors to be offered roasted chestnuts and wines called Àgua Pé and Jeropiga at the celebrations.
The parties will take place on November 1 at Adro da Igreja in Marmelete from 3pm and near the Casa do Povo in Alferce from 2pm, both in the Monchique council.
Paderne in Albufeira will also host a chestnut roasting party on November 11 at Praça Comendador António de Libâneo Correia from 3pm, and also at the Mercado da Ribeira in Tavira between 11am and 6pm.
