LOULÉ Câmara President, Seruca Emídio, has announced that work on the Francisco Sá Carneiro and Carlos Mota Pinto avenues in Quarteira will start as soon as possible. The project, which is expected to cost the câmara an estimated 175,000 euros, will take two months. According to a câmara spokesman, the two main roads, which were built nearly 20 years ago, have never been repaired. “They urgently need attention,” he revealed.
Quarteira freguesia has invested heavily in road works recently, repairing the BP roundabout, the Marginal Avenida and several other main and small roads. “We want Loulé and Quarteira to have a better image, especially with the Euro 2004 football tournament around the corner, which will attract hundreds of tourists,” Emídio explained.
