UNTIL THE New Year, the GNR traffic police will be concentrating on policing the Algarve’s main roads, acting as a visible deterrent to drink driving offenders as well as carrying out regular spot checks.
According to the GNR’s Major Paulo Oliveira, special attention will be given to the region’s main roads, including the EN125, A22, IC27 and IC4.
“The traffic police will be using maximum personnel including those who are normally on administrative duties,” he said. However, there will be no extra police reinforcements from other regions in the Algarve over the Christmas and New Year period.
